AP: China hosts Southeast Asian ministers as it competes with U.S.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is meeting with foreign ministers from 10 countries across Southeast Asia in Chongqing for a short summit. China’s growing influence in Southeast Asia is a point of contention, especially with contested claims in the South China Sea. Recently, the Philippines filed a diplomatic complaint over the presence  Southeast Asia is a region of growing competition for influence between the United States and China.
